Weekly Poll 📊
Last week I asked which trade was worse for their team…
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 The Celtics trading Jaylen Brown for Paul George
🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜️⬜️ The Browns trading 3 first round picks for Deshaun Watson.
The Results:
Full disclosure: at the time this poll was created I was a fairly despondent Celtics fan.
Over a week later and I have talked myself into it being a smart move and being excited about the next season. Writers like Jake Issenberg helped me get there.
The Deshaun Watson trade is the defining bad NFL trade of this decade not only for the moral concerns about the horrible accusations that were levied against him before the trade, but also enormous cost to the Browns in terms of both draft capital and salary cap.
Judging trades in the moment is outrageously difficult. Still, at the time of the Watson trade most of the NFL community was pretty disgusted in the Browns investment of the disgraced QB. And this was with the expectation that he would be able to provide upgraded QB play for them (he absolutely has not).
So I’m pretty surprised to see how down you all are on the Jaylen Brown trade for the Celtics. Its hard to see a scenario where this turns out worse for them than it did for the Browns.
This weeks question…
I’ve been running mock drafts daily in the WalterPicks Mock Draft Tool, testing different builds the types of leagues I’ll be drafting for in late-August. The goal in the 1st round for me is to typically just avoid landmine picks who could potentially sink a season. I find it difficult to see how any of the top WRs could become those kinds of picks this season without injuries, but being forced to pick is helpful in making me dig a little deeper.
With that in mind I ask you…
Which top drafted WR is most likely to NOT be a first round pick in fantasy drafts in 2027?
