Weekly Poll 📊

Last week I asked which former fantasy superstar was more likely to rebound to a top-5 finish…

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Saquon Barkley
🟨🟨🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️ Justin Jefferson

The Results:

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of confidence in a Minnesota bounce back…

“JJ doesn’t have the QB to rebound”, one Saquon voter said.

Its true that the QB play in Minnesota last season was catastrophic to Jefferson. In 2024, Justin Jefferson was at 19.3 points per game with Sam Darnold as the starter. In games where JJ McCarthy played in 2025, he averaged just 11.2 despite having a higher target share. He was 5th amongst all WRs in unrealized air yards…McCarthy was missing him a lot!

Saquon believers also appear to be blaming his previous season failing primarily on the Eagles environment.

“Without AJ Brown and with a new OC, the Eagles will play it safe and lean into Saquon more.”

Saquon was 3rd amongst RBs in snap share last season and 10th in target share. He was also 11th amongst RBs in red zone touches. His efficiency was down across the board though. He went from 4th in yards per touch to 48th. He dropped from 3rd in explosive play rate to 11th.

On paper, Jefferson looks like the easier candidate to see bouncing back. The change from JJ McCarthy to Kyler Murray is likely a larger environment change than the new OC brings in Philadelphia. Jefferson is also younger, and at a position where decline tends to happen later.

Walter agrees, projecting Jefferson to have a higher ceiling and floor for his position.

I had my first season-long draft this week (early, I know) and used these comparisons to help me make a lot of tough decisions. I highly recommend trying it in the WalterPicks Mock Draft Tool.
