NFL News From This Past Week 🚨

Why It Matters:

With Patrick Mahomes recovering from a late-season ACL tear, there is a possibility that Justin Fields starts the season as the Chiefs starting QB. If he does get any starts for the Chiefs, its hard to see him being anything worse than a top-15 QB option given his rushing upside.

There is a chance he has a role with the Chiefs even when Mahomes does return. They have been hesitant to sneak the ball with Mahomes in recent seasons, and the Fields is the kind of QB Andy Reid could absolutely build effective packages around.

Why It Matters:

This could be a pre-cursor to an AJ Brown trade. Many beat reporters have hypothesized that the Eagles will wait until June 1st to move on from AJ Brown for salary cap reasons, with many expecting him to be dealt to the Patriots.

If AJ Brown is traded, Marquise Brown slides in behind Devonta Smith as the Eagles WR2. That would likely make him a late-round sleeper in drafts and a start-able piece in favorable matchups. Were AJ Brown to stay, it is unlikely Marquise Brown would have much relevance in most formats.

Why It Matters:

We analyzed this trade through a fantasy lens for Waddle and both teams in an article earlier this week. You can read that here.
