The Big Stuff

Excerpt from another article we published last week:

In Allen’s last season with the Chargers in 2023, he had 1,243 yards and 7 touchdowns in just 13 games. His production took a step back in Chicago last season (who were horrific on offense down the stretch), catching 70 passes for 744 yards and 7 TDs over the course of 15 games.

Allen is 33 years old coming off a down year, but still has a chance to be very productive in this Chargers offense. While we expect Ladd McConkey to remain in the slot on a majority of snaps, the rest of the pass catchers on this team are huge question marks. Allen has always been more of a route-running technician than a player who wins with athleticism. He has always had an excellent rapport with Chargers QB Justin Herbert, and an 8+ million dollar investment at this point in the offseason signals that this is more than just a flier.

Allen should be drafted and rostered in every fantasy format!

Addison will reportedly not appeal this suspension, and will return Week 4 to be the Vikings WR2. This was always the expected outcome and may push him down rankings slightly, but should not have much impact on his outlook outside of the first three weeks of the season.

Other Notes

  • According to Dan Graziano (ESPN) - the Jaguars plan on keeping four RBs and using a rotation. This includes Travis Etienne Jr., Tank Bigsby, Bhayshul Tuten, and LeQuint Allen Jr. - if this holds, this backfield could be a fantasy nightmare.

  • Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen stated this week that WR/CB Travis Hunter could play 80% of offensive snaps.

  • Rams QB Matt Stafford has still not practiced in camp but the Rams insist that his is just a maintenance issue. They feel that if there were a game this week, Stafford would play. He has been officially diagnosed with an aggravated disc in his back and received and epidural for it.

  • According to Hayden Winks (Underdog) Spencer Rattler has the lead over Tyler Shough in the Saints QB competition.

  • The Rams have agreed to a 3-year, $33 million extension for RB Kyren Williams.

  • Jets rookie TE Mason Taylor has a high-ankle sprain and is not practicing.

  • According to his agent, Dolphins TE Darren Waller is expected to be ready for Week 1.

  • Rookie Saints RB Devin Neal will miss a few weeks with a hamstring injury, likely putting him behind Kendre Miller on the depth chart to start the season.

  • According to Bears beat reporter Ben Devine, Kyle Monongai is running exclusively as the RB2 behind D’Andre Swift. This certainly dulls some enthusiasm for Roschon Johnson as a sleeper.

  • Chiefs WR Rashee Rice was held out of practice with a groin issue. The expectation for us is that he will still receive some kind of suspension to start the season, making this a non-concern.

  • Bills RB James Cook is still holding out of practice in hopes of a new contract citing “Business” as the reason why. The gap between Cook and the Bills is reportedly not as large as other notable hold-ins.

  • Rookie Seahawks WR Tory Horton is reportedly pushing hard for the WR3 job in Seattle, with many speculating that Marquez-Valdes Scantling will be cut.

  • Browns RB Quinshon Judkins has filed to waive his right to a speedy trial following his arrest last month. This will likely push the trial to early 2026. He is still unsigned, and the chances that he remains unsigned an misses the entire season are high.

  • Chargers LT Rashawn Slater will miss the entirety of the 2025 season with a knee injury - an extraordinary blow to the Chargers offense. This likely lowers the ceiling *slightly for everyone on the roster.

  • Chargers WR Ladd McConkey has not practiced since July 28th and has been seen with his upper leg wrapped in camp.

  • Chargers RB Najee Harris still appears to have one eye shut after his incident with a firework last month.

  • Colts QB Anthony Richardson dislocated the pinky finger on his throwing hand in a preseason game and is considered day-to-day.

  • Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue was carted off the field this week with what was reported to be a bone bruise in his foot. This is not expected to be a longterm injury.

  • Bills WR Khalil Shakir is expected to be ready to Week 1.

  • 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is unlikely to be cleared before Week 1.

  • Titans RB Tyjae Spears was carted off in Saturday’s preseason game with what is believed to be a high-ankle sprain.

  • Packers WR Jayden Reed was spotted in a walking boot but the team is hopeful that he will be ready for Week 1.

  • Buccaneers RB Rachaad White injured his groin during one of his final plays of the Saturday preseason game.
