The Big Stuff

This decision by the Colts improves our fantasy projection for the Colts RB room as well as just about all of their pass-catchers. Daniel Jones should have some use in super flex leagues as well. He has not had a rushing share below 23% since 2020. Steichen has said that the leash will be long, but we will still not be shocked to see Anthony Richardson starting at some point this season.

Rumors circulated early this week that Washington would be looking to move Robinson Jr. and the 49ers end up being the buyer. This obviously signals that they will be comfortable giving rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt a solid workload but this should also increase volume for Austin Ekeler and Chris Rodriguez. On the 49ers side of things, its too early to say whether or not Robinson Jr. will cut into the work of Christian McCaffrey, but it does seem far less likely that Isaac Guerendo has any kind of significant role this season.

Other Notes

  • The Texans traded WR John Metchie III to the Eagles. He should mix in as the WR3 with Jahan Dotson, but its hard to see him having a significant impact in fantasy leagues.

  • Packers RB Marshawn Lloyd will miss some time with a hamstring injury. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks are the primary backups to starter Josh Jacobs for the time being.

  • The Browns named Joe Flacco as their Week 1 starter at QB - an unsurprising move that is the best case scenario for pass-catchers on that team.

  • Despite being cleared of all charges, rookie second round RB Quinshon Judkins has been unable to reach a deal with the Browns.

  • Dolphins RB De’Von Achane is dealing with a calf injury and is not practicing. Whether or not he will miss any time is unclear at this moment. Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II are his primary backups.

  • Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan has been placed on IR with a neck injury and will miss at least the first 9 weeks of the season.

  • Giants LT Andrew Thomas, RB Cam Skattebo, and WR Malik Nabers all returned to practice this week.

  • Ravens QB Lamar Jackson left practice Wednesday with what appeared to be a right hand/wrist injury and did not practice the rest of the week.

  • 49ers WR Demarcus Robinson has been suspended for the first 3 games of the season.

  • The Broncos traded WR Devaughn Vele to the Saints for a 4th and a 7th round pick. This increases the projected ceiling for Marvin Mims and Pat Bryant.

  • The Buccaneers plan on starting WR Chris Godwin on their 53-man roster but only to be able to ramp him up for games. He is not expected to play before October.

  • Patriots WR Ja’Lynn Polk will miss the entire 2025 season due to a shoulder injury that requires surgery.

  • Rams QB Matt Stafford returned to practice this week and participated in full with no reported issues.

  • Chargers GM Joe Horitiz says that RB Najee Harris is on track and should be ready to go Week 1.

  • The Vikings signed QB Carson Wentz and traded presumptive backup QB Sam Howell to the Eagles.

  • Cowboys rookie RB Jaydon Blue suffered a low ankle sprain in their final preseason game Friday night but the team is hopeful he will be ready for Week 1.
