Start 'Em Up: Week 4 Starts and Sleepers

Quarterbacks

Start: Jordan Love (vs. Cowboys) faces arguably the worst defense in the NFL this week. Love is projected to be very effective in this road matchup where he is a favorite. Dallas does not really have an answer for this offense, nor any for that matter. If you have Jordan Love, we advise starting him this week. We LOVE him (sorry).

Start: Caleb Williams (vs. Raiders) has sneakily been one of the best fantasy quarterbacks this season. This week, he has an advantageous matchup with the Raiders. If Vegas can keep this game competitive, we project Williams ceiling to be monumental. He is a fantastic option that is nearly impossible to leave on the bench.

Sleeper: Bryce Young (vs. Patriots) is coming off a good performance against the Falcons. Consider him as a deep league option, or as an option if you are bereft of any consistent options. He projects well in our app this week.

Running Backs

Start: Omarion Hampton (vs. Giants) is coming off his best performance of the season, and now he has a great matchup with the Giants. He was heavily involved in the passing game in Week 3, and if that happens again this week, he has the opportunity to be a top five running back in Week 4.

Start: Cam Skattebo (vs. Chargers) had an incredible workload in Week 3, totaling over 100 scrimmage yards across his touches. He played well against the Chiefs, which means he is certainly capable of playing well against the Chargers. His workload alone makes him incredibly tough to bench, especially when considering how prolific he has shown to be as a pass-catcher.

Sleeper: Nick Chubb (vs. Titans) is in a good matchup with the Titans. The Texans have struggled in most facets, particularly through the air. In this spot, we are projecting Houston to get the run game going in their efforts to get their first win of the season.

Wide Receivers

Start: Malik Nabers (vs. Chargers) seems to be an obvious start. But after last week, many fantasy managers were left with questions. With the introduction of Jaxson Dart, Nabers should see more looks across the middle of the field. It is a difficult matchup, but Nabers is so talented that he projects very well in the WalterPicks app.

Start: Michael Pittman Jr. (vs. Rams) is in a tough matchup, but he has been a beacon of consistency. He is Indiana Jones' favorite target, and unless you have the greatest wide receiver room in fantasy football history, MPJ needs to be started this week.

Sleeper: Matthew Golden (vs. Cowboys) has shown major flashes this season, but has not shown up in a major way for fantasy yet. This week, he faces one of the worst secondaries in football in Dallas. In leagues with 10 or more teams, he warrants very strong consideration.

Tight Ends

Start: Jake Ferguson (vs. Packers) has seen an incredible target share this season, and with CeeDee Lamb missing time, that trend is expected to continue. Facing a tough Packers squad, the Cowboys are expected to throw a ton. Walter has Ferguson in the same tier as Trey McBride and Brock Bowers right now.

Sleeper: Jake Tonges (vs. Jaguars) is, once again, a sleeper at tight end this week. With Pearsall and Jennings dealing with injuries, the 49ers options are wearing thin. Tonges is not a great option, but he certainly fits the description of a sleeper.

Things to Watch Closely for Fantasy in Week 4

  • Jaxson Dart's debut and how it will impact the Giants offense

  • Will Derrick Henry bounce back against a stout Chiefs defense?

  • Will Chase Brown and Ashton Jeanty continue to hurt our lineups?

  • Are Brian Thomas Jr. and Tee Higgins done for?

  • The Vikings defense against 900 year old Aaron Rodgers

  • Emeka Egbuka without Mike Evans (also, is Chris Godwin coming back?)

  • Will Quentin Johnston cement himself as a must-start option every week?

  • Can A.J. Brown pick up where he left off?

  • Quinshon Judkins against the Lions

  • Micah Parsons against his former team

DFS Favorites

These are some of the players Walter recommends prioritizing in your FanDuel and DraftKings lineups.

Jaxson Dart, FD price: $6,300 DK Price: $4,500, does not have a great matchup in his debut, but he offers a rushing floor, while having a solid offensive line and two great weapons (Nabers and Skattebo). He should be sprinkled into lineups in any contest format to get more studs in.

James Cook, FD Price: $8,500 DK Price: $7,100, has as good a matchup as he will have all season this week. Facing the Saints, his chances of scoring a touchdown are astronomical. The Bills are massive favorites, and James Cook is a reason for that.

Jakobi Meyers, FD Price: $6,100 DK Price: $5,400, has a great matchup with the Bears. He is underpriced, and he has the potential to have a massive ceiling, while also maintaining a safe floor.

Jaguars Defense, FD Price: $3,800 DK Price: $2,500, has been one of the top defenses in fantasy football this season, forcing several turnovers every week. They have a matchup with the 49ers this week, which does not sound good. But, San Fran could be without one of their top weapons, and Duvallโ€™s defense is very cheap.

Wow, all of these recommendations start with โ€œJa.โ€ That was unintentional! Good luck in your lineups this week!

My Favorite Upset Pick of Week 4

Panthers to beat the Patriots on the road.

Odds: +190

Spread: NE -5.5

Reasoning: The spread on this game is surprising, especially considering just how well the Panthers played in Week 3. At +190, Carolina is a team worth sprinkling against a Patriots team that just cannot seem to get out of their own way.
