Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Week 15 Sleepers and Fades

We're focusing on the borderline players who could make or break your Week 15 lineup. The must-start players like Bijan Robinson and Bucky Irving should continue to be in all lineups.

So, let’s look at some fringe players in this game and decide whether they should be in fantasy lineups or not in Week 15.

START: TE Kyle Pitts

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts appears to be Kirk Cousins’ favorite target in the passing game. That should continue in Week 15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Drake London set to miss another game. So, Pitts will be a strong TE1 play in the first round of the fantasy football playoffs.

In three games without London this season, Pitts has scored 14.9 PPR fantasy points (Week 8), 15.2 PPR fantasy points (Week 13), and 15 PPR fantasy points (Week 14). With 18 targets combined over the past two games, the Falcons’ playmaker should be in most fantasy lineups.

*Make sure to check his status before the game. He is questionable as of 5PM ET on Wednesday.

Walter's Rank: TE4

START: QB Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield hasn’t been a viable fantasy option in recent weeks. He has finished outside the top-12 at the QB position in three straight games and has scored over 20 fantasy points just once since Week 6. However, Mayfield can be started as a low-end QB1 in some leagues this week.

The Buccaneers should have their top four WRs all healthy for the first time this year. Although Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan are listed as questionable, there’s a good chance both will suit up in this game. Given that Mayfield should have his full WR core, he will be a solid play against a Falcons defense that has allowed a top-10 fantasy QB finish in three of the last four weeks.

Walter's Rank: QB11

SIT: WR Mike Evans

Signs point to Evans returning in Week 15 following a six-game absence due to a collarbone injury. The Buccaneers activated him off injured reserve on Wednesday, and head coach Todd Bowles said the veteran WR “has shown everything he needed to show in practice.”

However, Evans will be a riskier WR3 option in his return to the field in Week 15. He might not see a full complement of snaps in his first game back, and his matchup on the outside could be against A.J. Terrell. Terrell ranks 18th among all cornerbacks in fantasy points allowed per cover snap.

Walter's Rank: WR27

SIT: WR Darnell Mooney

Fantasy managers should not be starting Atlanta Falcons WR Darnell Mooney in any formats this week. Mooney has scored 4.5 PPR fantasy points and 1.6 PPR fantasy points in each of the last two weeks. That makes the Falcons’ playmaker a must-sit in all fantasy formats.

Mooney only has a 14.4% target share in three games with Cousins this season and only saw four targets in last week’s loss. Even though London has already been ruled out for this contest, the 28-year-old is unstartable.

Walter’s Rank: WR62

Prop: Rachaad White OVER 1.5 Receptions (+105 on BetMGM)

Rachaad White Recent Reception Totals

Reasoning: Rachaad White has gone over this line in eight of his last 10 games. Although Bucky Irving returned two weeks ago, White still played 49% of the team’s offensive snaps in Week 14. Now, he gets a Falcons defense that has allowed the 12th-most receptions to opposing RBs this year.

With a 10.7% EV Edge at BetMGM, Walter believes this is a bet worth taking on Thursday night. White is projected for 2.6 receptions in our Player Prop Evaluator.
