The Big Stuff

This is exactly what was expected by would have been a seismic shift if it had gone differently. Terry McLaurin remains the clear number one weapon for Jayden Daniels and this news should make drafters of both of them feel more secure.

The suspension for Rashee Rice is officially 6 games and set to begin at the start of this season. This should be good news for owners who will now have to deal with his suspension during easier weeks to navigate losses during the season. Even bigger than that, we now know that Rice’s suspension will not carry into the fantasy football playoffs.

While not being a player that most fantasy players will trade stock in this season, Micah Parsons is the kind of pass rusher who can change a defensive projection in a weekly matchup. This is a transformative move for the Packers defense and will almost certainly play a role in start/sit decisions throughout the season.

Other Notes

• 49ers WR Jauan Jennings is expected to be ready for Week 1.

• 49ers WR Jacob Cowing reinjured his hamstring and could be out six weeks.

• Raiders backup QB Aidan O’Connell fractured his wrist in their preseason finale and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks. They followed up this news by trading for Browns QB Kenny Pickett.

• Browns RB Quinshon Judkins is still not under contract. The situation does not appear to be close to a resolution with reports out this week that Judkins could potentially return to college this season.

• Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers has requested a trade after he and the team failed to come to terms on an extension.

• Texans RB Joe Mixon was officially moved to IR and will miss at least the first four games of the season.

• The Raiders signed free agent WR Amari Cooper to a 1-year deal.

• The Broncos waived RB Audric Estime. They will start the season with a backfield rotation of RJ Harvey, JK Dobbins, and Jaleel McLaughlin.

• Titans RB Tyjae Spears who had been dealing with a high ankle sprain was placed on IR and will miss at least the first four games of the season.

• The Saints officially named Spencer Rattler as their starting QB to begin 2025.

• The Seahawks released Marquez Valdes-Scantling who immediately signed a deal with the 49ers.

• The Patriots released WRs Kendrick Bourne and Javon Baker. Bourne had a visit with the Commanders this week while Baker signed with the Eagles practice squad.

• The Vikings traded for Panthers WR Adam Thielen who should have a significant role while Jordan Addison serves his suspension to begin the season.

• The Lions traded WR Tim Patrick to the Jaguars - a strong signal of their confidence in rookie Isaac TeSlaa.

• Dolphins GM Chris Grier claims that they expect De’Von Achane to be ready for Week 1. RB Jaylin Wright is also expected to miss Week 1, putting Ollie Gordon in the primary backup role.

• Packers WR Jayden Reed returned to practice this week and is still feeling some pain while running routes. His status for Week 1 is uncertain.

• Falcons WR Darnell Mooney returned to practice this week for the first time since July 24th.

• Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is expected to miss the first month of the season.

• The Panthers placed WR Jalen Coker on IR, ensuring he will miss the first four weeks of the season. In a corresponding move, the re-signed WR Hunter Renfrow to their active roster.

• Chiefs rookie WR Jalen Royals is not expected to be ready for Week 1.
