We’re focusing on borderline players who could make or break your Week 1 lineup. The obvious stars like Josh Allen, Jahmyr Gibbs, James Cook, and Amon-Ra St. Brown are automatic starts. Last week, we recommended starting Mike Evans (16.9 PPR fantasy points) and sitting Jadarian Price (7.8 PPR fantasy points).

Let’s look at some fringe players and decide whether they should be in fantasy lineups for Thursday night.

Dalton Kincaid is coming off a big-time performance in Week 1. He caught five passes for 130 yards en route to an 18-point PPR fantasy day. Kincaid also ranked as the TE1 in receiving air yards and yards per route run, while having a 27.3% receiving air yards share to open the season.

After that TE5 fantasy finish, Kincaid will be a must-start TE option in Week 2. The Lions allowed both Juwan Johnson (14.4 PPR fantasy points) and Noah Fant (13.3 PPR fantasy points) to have solid fantasy games last week. In a game that is expected to be high-scoring, the Bills playmaker should be in most lineups.

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff didn’t have his best passing day in Week 1. Although he threw for two passing touchdowns, he only finished as the QB17 with 16.4 PPR fantasy points. Even though this game has a high over/under (54), it’s hard to trust him as a QB1 in 12-team leagues.

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud scored just 16.5 fantasy points last week against this Buffalo defense, and the Bills allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs in 2025. Given Goff’s lack of rushing, there are better options to roll with this week.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore posted strong fantasy numbers in his first game on his new team. Moore caught 5-of-8 targets for 100 yards and one touchdown and finished as the overall WR9 on the week. He had a 28.6% target share, 158 receiving air yards, and averaged four yards per route run against a tough Texans defense.

Now, Moore gets a Lions secondary that really struggled to contain both of the Saints WRs last week. Chris Olave totaled 10 catches for 182 yards, while Devaughn Vele totaled seven receptions for 69 yards and one touchdown. You’re starting Moore as a high-end WR2 in Week 2.

Prop: Jahmyr Gibbs 20+ Carries (47% Polymarket)

Gibbs will have every opportunity to have a large workload in this matchup against the Bills. He has seen at least 20 carries in four of his last five games without David Montgomery, and just saw 29 carries in the Lions’ win over the Saints last week. Gibbs had an 87.9% rush share in that Week 1 matchup and won’t cede many RB carries to Sione Vaki (two carries last week).
