Who Could Have Seen This Coming?

Allow me to jog the memory of our newsletter subscribers by presenting two pieces of content written prior to the Conference Championship and Super Bowl - courtesy of our stellar writing team.

You, the reader, may be asking yourself:

“Who is this Nostradamus that almost perfectly predicted the Super Bowl and was steadfast in his takes and unwavering through it all?”

That’s an unbelievably intuitive and excellent question, dear newsletter reader.

It was me. I wrote them.

Now, let’s recap the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl Facts/Opinions

  • The game wasn’t entertaining due to the Patriots being severely outmatched.

  • The Patriots played their worst run defense of the season - resulting in Kenneth Walker being the first RB to win Super Bowl MVP since Terrell Davis in Super Bowl 32. Walker recorded 29 touches and over 160 all-purpose yards

  • The Seahawks did not commit any turnovers the ENTIRE postseason, including the Super Bowl. This has NEVER happened before

  • Drake Maye was not good in the Super Bowl - but New England’s offensive line absolutely failed him.

  • Christian Gonzalez played the best game of his career - recording three touchdown-saving pass breakups. Without Gonzo, the Patriots might have given up 40 points

  • Bad Bunny crushed.

  • Patriots Left Tackle, Will Campbell, had one of the worst performances from an offensive lineman in recent memory - allowing a pressure rate close to 30%.

  • Both teams had excellent seasons - but nobody was on Seattle’s level.

  • Mike MacDonald became the first Head Coach to EVER win The Big Game while being the defensive play-caller.

My Rating:

On a scale of 1-10, this Super Bowl gets a 3 from me. It would have been a 1 if Christian Gonzalez didn’t make some of the greatest defensive plays in Super Bowl history.

Biggest Questions for Next Season

There are endless questions to be asked for next season. For this exercise, we’re going to limit ourselves to the ONE biggest question from each division.

AFC West

What will the Raiders do to address the QB position?

Fernando Mendoza going to them first overall feels like a sure thing at this point.

But... what if it isn’t?

Malik Willis and Daniel Jones are free agents, and they both looked excellent in 2025. Could the Raiders sign one of these more experienced QBs and get a haul for the first pick?

AFC South

Cam Ward?

Cam Ward taking a step forward after showing flashes throughout his rookie campaign is going to be huge. Brian Daboll wanted to draft him when he was the Giants’ Head Coach. Can he get the most out of Ward as his Offensive Coordinator in Tennessee?

AFC East

Can Joe Brady take the Bills to the next level?

This hire still doesn’t make much sense to me. If Buffalo’s new Head Coach can’t quickly get the Bills humming - there are going to be lots of questions about the Bills’ way of handling the departure of Sean McDermott.

AFC North

What identities will the Ravens and Steelers take?

After nearly two decades of having their respective Head Coaches, both of the NFL’s winningest franchises are beginning new eras. The Browns also hired a new coach, but that’s nothing new.

NFC North

What will the Vikings do to address QB?

This J.J. McCarthy situation has been a debacle to say the least. Vikings players were expressing their frustration throughout Super Bowl week. Will Minnesota bring in some competition? Or are they rolling with Nine?

NFC South

Will Tyler Shough take a step forward?

The Saints QB looked excellent throughout the back half of his rookie season. If he continues to improve in one of the most underrated offensive schemes in the NFL, the Saints will be a major threat in a dreadful division.

NFC West

Can the 49ers stay healthy for once?

If the 49ers aren’t the most injured team in the NFL in 2026, they will be a serious contender out of the NFC.

NFC East

Will John Harbaugh bring success to New York?

Since 2017, the Giants have 5 seasons with 4 or less wins. John Harbaugh has never had a season with 4 or less wins. In a division with an iffy Eagles squad, talent-depleted Commanders unit, and a defenseless Cowboys team, the Giants have a chance to make some noise IF Harbaugh can change the ideology in East Rutherford.
