šŸˆ Sam Factor's Players to Target

From the WalterPicks Advanced Fantasy Football Draft Guide - These are players that WalterPicks CEO, Sam Factor, is targeting in fantasy football drafts!

We are officially in the thick of draft season! The next week is when a majority of fantasy football drafts will take place and now is absolutely the time to sync your leagues to the WalterPicks app and test the draft mode!

The custom rankings + LIVE draft insights helped over 80% of synced users make their playoffs last season.

We have also launched multiple new guides in the app this week - including the Advanced Strategy Guide - which deep dives into every possible edge you could possibly get in a fantasy football draft.

It is the result of months of work from our projections team and is the best possible way to prepare strategically for upcoming drafts. Just check for the latest app update to get access!

The following is a preview for the My Targets section of the guide - where our CEO Sam Factor lays out how he is viewing each position in 2025, a list of targets for each, and detailed explanations about why he likes them.

My Targets

Running Backs

When it comes to the running back position, I generally want backs who:

  • Have a path to 50-plus receptions

  • Are attached to a good offense for touchdown potential

  • Have the potential for a workhorse role

You can justify taking Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Christian McCaffrey with any pick of the first round. Ashton Jeanty, Devon Achane, Derrick Henry, Jonathan Taylor, Josh Jacobs, Bucky Irving, Breece Hall, and Chase Brown are all solid selections at their respective average draft positions as well.

Outside of the elite options that will be taken in round 1-3 , here are RB’s with league-winning upside that I will be targeting aggressively in rounds 5+ of 12-team PPR drafts. You likely won’t see me draft a team this season without one of these guys.

Omarion Hampton

Omarion Hampton will be competing with Najee Harris for the Chargers’ lead-back role behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. The Chargers lead back last season, JK Dobbins, averaged 4.8 yards per carry and 15.1 fantasy points per game with just a 51% rush share and 10% target share. I expect Omarion Hampton to beat every single one of those marks in 2025.

He’s a strong prospect that could have been the RB1 in previous draft classes. He’s a bruising back on the ground with a 93rd percentile size adjusted speed score. The Tar Heel recorded over 2,000 all-purpose yards in his final collegiate season, and he’s a capable pass-catcher too, his 11.2% college target share ranks in the 85th percentile.

He will return value in fantasy drafts at his ~RB15 cost if he simply matches the volume and production from Dobbins last season. If ends up seeing the bulk of the backfield touches - he will win leagues.

I am not scared to reach for Hampton in round 3/4.

TreVeyon Henderson

TreVeyon Henderson is the clear best receiving back on a Pats team that still lacks many elite receiving weapons. The last time Josh McDaniels was the Pats OC, these were James White's target shares in his final 3 healthy seasons were 18.1%, 17.4%, and 22.2%. For context, here were the top-3 running backs in target share last season:

I already went into great depth about why the Patriots dramatic offseason team environment change is reason for more fantasy optimism than it’s getting credit for. Henderson will benefit from this. Henderson is an ideal round 5+ PPR target, especially if you don’t go RB-heavy in the early rounds.
