Today, we are disappointed, distraught, and inconsolably hurt by the players who fell well short of our expectations.
Is there any hope for them?
Is there any hope for any of us?
Can any of these guys become a Priest Holmes? Or are they all just Corey Davis?
Let’s get into it.

Marvin Harrison Jr. - WR - Cardinals
Why We Are Hurt:
Marvin Harrison Jr. was thought to be the surest thing at WR we had seen since Ja’Marr Chase - the safest bet you could possibly make. The Cardinals drafted him 4th overall in 2024 with zero controversy. He was also the consensus 1.01 in dynasty rookie drafts that year, ahead of massive names like Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, and Brock Bowers. Managers were so confident in his pedigree and his position in the Cardinals’ offense that he had a Round 1 ADP in 2024 drafts before ever playing a snap.
Through two seasons, he has only three games with over 20 PPR fantasy points scored. He finished as the WR34 in Year 1 and as the WR46 in Year 2. To make matters worse, Michael Wilson took off in his role while he missed time due to injury. From Weeks 11-16, a stretch where MHJ missed 4 weeks, Wilson averaged 21.5 PPG and was the WR3.
Opportunity has never been an issue for Harrison Jr. Production very much has.
Is there any hope?
Everything Harrison Jr. has shown us over two seasons suggests he is more like Devante Parker than Marvin Harrison. He has had every opportunity to break out and has done very little to impress. With a new coach and an RB drafted 3rd overall, the Cardinals appear to be building around an offense that is a force on the ground. The Wilson breakout from last season should also hurt Marv’s target share.
The window for a breakout is closing. Marvin Harrison Jr. being a surefire fantasy star feels like a dead dream.

Brian Thomas Jr. - WR - Jaguars 😱
Why We Are Hurt:
Brian Thomas Jr. smashed expectations in his rookie season with a WR4 finish. He was also a bona fide league winner, averaging 28.2 PPR points per week in the fantasy playoffs as the WR1 over that span. The hiring of Liam Coen in 2025 raised the ceiling for the entire Jaguars offense, and expectations for Thomas were sky high. He had an uncontroversial 1st Round ADP.
But his sophomore season was a massive flop…
Thomas finished as the WR44, behind far less explosive teammates Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers. Early-season gaffes and low-focus moments went viral. His chemistry with Trevor Lawrence appeared to be a lost cause. He was a massive fantasy bust and a player who legitimately lost leagues.
Is there any hope?
Unlike Harrison Jr., Thomas has shown a strong ceiling. You don’t luck your way into a WR4 finish. But he had only one top-10 weekly WR finish in 2025. And the connection with Lawrence does appear to be a massive issue. His hot finish in 2024 did occur with Mac Jones under center.
Thomas was eighth in deep targets last season and 10th in unrealized air yards. Unlocking him should be a huge priority for the Jaguars. But his floor has revealed itself to be quite low.
He is worth drafting at his current price because there is still upside there and a clear path to a bounce back. But another year like 2025 would be catastrophic.

Brandon Aiyuk - WR - 49ers (for now)
Why We Are Hurt:
Coming off consecutive 1,000+ yard seasons in 2022 and 2023, Brandon Aiyuk looked like a solid bet to be a fantasy mainstay for the next five seasons. The 2023 season felt like a fulfillment of his promise, gutting out a WR12 finish after years of teasing us with tantalizing flashes.
But 2024 was a disaster. After holding out for most of the summer, Aiyuk received a long-term deal from the 49ers. He responded with seven weeks of atrocious production, coming in as the WR46 during that stretch before tearing his ACL.
It now appears he will never play for the 49ers again. He missed several team obligations last season, leading them to void all of his guarantees.
Is there any hope?
Honest answer: Who knows…
The 49ers have no incentive to cut Aiyuk, as teams may still want to trade for him. They’re perfectly happy to hold him hostage on their roster without paying him until they absolutely must.
Many assume a trade to the Commanders will occur, allowing Aiyuk to reunite with his college QB Jayden Daniels. Pre-injury, Aiyuk is an obvious fit for Daniels’ vertical passing skillset.
But nobody has seen him play in two years…
Until Aiyuk is on a new team, regularly attending team functions, and seen in a condition that matches his pre-injury form, he is nothing more than a speculative stash for fantasy football.
Rapid Fire Round
Xavier Worthy - WR - Chiefs
The landing spot generated so much hype in the draft, and with all their injuries, he's gotten tons of opportunities to separate. He has not.
Is There Any Hope?
Not really.
Travis Hunter - WR - Jaguars
There were flashes last season. He could clearly separate and had a knack for big plays, but the Jaguars never felt like they fully knew how to best deploy him. He is expected to primarily be a cornerback in 2026.
Is There Any Hope?
It’s not looking great. He has more competition for targets now than in 2025 and appears to be prioritizing defense. The talent might still be enough to force his way into more receiving volume. It's a shot in the dark, but there is hope.
Jonathon Brooks - RB - Panthers
Remember this guy? He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2024 draft. He appeared in just three games in 2024 and no games in 2025. Two ACL tears later, he’s finally been medically cleared to play for the 2026 season.
Is There Any Hope?
Heck yeah! Chuba Hubbard took a step back next season, and Rico Dowdle left Carolina for Pittsburgh. If Brooks still has any juice, he should get an opportunity. At his current price, the juice is very much worth the squeeze.
