Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a really strong 2024 season in which he finished as the overall WR9 in PPR formats. But he took his game to the next level in 2025 following the departure of veteran DK Metcalf. Smith-Njigba then went on to finish as the overall WR2 while averaging 21.2 PPR fantasy points.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is this year’s Smith-Njigba. The departure of Metcalf opened up more opportunities in the passing game for the Seahawks playmaker last year, and the departure of Mike Evans this offseason should help Egbuka reach new fantasy heights in 2026.

Egbuka showed a ton of fantasy potential in his rookie season, averaging 11.5 PPR fantasy points per game. Now, he’s ready to take that next step as the potential top target on a solid Buccaneers offense.

Other Candidates: Devonta Smith, Christian Watson

Wide receiver George Pickens was traded to the Dallas Cowboys last offseason after a disappointing 2024 campaign, where he finished as the WR42 in PPR formats. Pickens went to a Cowboys team that had a top offense, an offensive-minded head coach, and a good pocket passing quarterback. Those, along with CeeDee Lamb’s injury, all helped him finish as the overall WR5 in PPR formats a season ago.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was traded to the Denver Broncos this offseason following a career-worst fantasy season in 2025. Waddle finished as the overall WR46 in PPR formats. But the move to Denver should push Waddle back to fantasy stardom this season.

Waddle joins a really good Broncos offense with a solid throwing quarterback in Bo Nix. The former Dolphins playmaker should fit in quite nicely in this offense, considering Nix's strengths are also Waddle’s strengths. Nix ranked fourth in air yards last year, while Waddle ranked sixth in air yards share. Fantasy managers should expect a lot of big plays from these two this season.

Other Candidates: DJ Moore, A.J. Brown

The Year 2 quarterback breakout is real. After posting mediocre fantasy numbers in their rookie seasons, both Drake Maye and Caleb Williams were elite fantasy options last year. Maye finished as the overall QB2, while Williams finished as the overall QB5.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough really came on strongly toward the end of the 2025 season. He averaged 20.1 fantasy points per game over the final six weeks of the season and was firmly put on fantasy radars down the stretch.

Now, entering his second NFL season, Shough could truly break out. The Saints added both Jordyn Tyson (NFL Draft) and Travis Etienne (free agency) to this offense in the offseason, and the Louisville product should only grow as a passer this year. The potential is there for Shough to take a similar leap to the one Maye and Williams made a season ago.

Other Candidates: Cam Ward

Most fantasy managers wrote off running back Javonte Williams entering the 2025 season. He wasn’t a viable fantasy option during both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, and there were question marks about his role in Dallas once he signed there last offseason. Williams then went on to finish as the RB12 in PPR formats.

It wasn’t too long ago that Rachaad White finished as a top-10 fantasy running back. Then, Bucky Irving came in and overtook him in Tampa Bay’s backfield. But White has a prime opportunity in front of him this upcoming season.

He signed with a Commanders team in free agency that lacks a true RB1. He should see half of the running back’s snaps in this backfield, with the potential for his snap share to grow to 60-65%. His usage in the passing game alone could carry him to being a reliable fantasy option once again. White’s involvement in both the running and passing game could make him a surprise fantasy option, similar to Williams last year.
