🏈 Fantasy Football Trade Report

Here is the fantasy football trade report following a wild Week 4. We list several buy low/sell high options heading into Week 5!

This fantasy football season has been rough. We have had many superstar players suffer season-ending injuries (Joe Burrow, Malik Nabers, James Conner, and Tyreek Hill), and plenty of second-round picks have been fantasy busts through the first four weeks (Ladd McConkey, Brian Thomas Jr., Chase Brown, and Brock Bowers).

But the season isn’t over. There is still time to improve your team and make a run for the playoffs. The best way to improve your team right now is by using the trade analyzer in the WalterPicks app. You can see how each trade affects your team and whether your projections for the rest of the year will go up or down. So, don’t miss out on winning every trade and sync YOUR league to the WalterPicks app today!

Buy Low/Sell High Fantasy Football

Buy Low: WR Rashee Rice

As we enter Week 5 of the fantasy football season, now is the perfect time to trade for WR Rashee Rice. Rice is eligible to come off the suspended list before the team’s Week 7 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

You need to see what it would take to acquire him. In three games before his injury last year, Rice averaged 21.6 PPR fantasy points per game.

Although that was a small sample size, Rice will no doubt contribute strong fantasy numbers. He is ranked as the WR4 in WalterPicks’ rest of season rankings, ahead of WRs like Justin Jefferson (WR5), Drake London (WR6), and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR7).

Trade Strategy: Target Rice owners who are struggling at 1-3 or 0-4 and need immediate help. Offer a solid WR2 currently producing or package a lower-tier WR with an RB2. If you're sitting comfortably at 3-1 or better, now is the time to make your move!

Our Rest of Season Rankings

Sell High: TE Dalton Kincaid

It appears that Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid is breaking out in front of our eyes. He has caught at least four passes in three of four games and will enter Week 5 as the overall TE3 in half-PPR formats. This impressive start has been refreshing for those who have believed in Kincaid over the past few years.

However, Kincaid is one of the bigger sell-highs in fantasy. Last week marked the second time that the Bills playmaker has played under 50% of the team’s offensive snaps this season. On top of that, his route participation (59.2%), routes run (19.3 per game), and target share (15.1%) all rank outside the top-20 at the TE position through four weeks.

Trade away Kincaid before it’s too late. Josh Allen loves to spread the ball around in his offense, and the low target share will likely lead to volatile production in the coming weeks.

Trade Strategy: Shop Kincaid to the tight end-needy team in your league. His TE3 ranking gives you leverage to target a consistent, high-usage option like Sam LaPorta, who runs more routes and commands a larger target share despite fewer touchdowns. You could also package Kincaid with a bench piece to upgrade at another position.

Buy Low: RB Trey Benson

Fantasy managers might have expected more from RB Trey Benson in his first game without Conner. He only scored 10.4 PPR fantasy points and was held to just eight carries for 35 yards in last week’s loss, good for a finish as the overall RB33 in PPR formats.

Following that Week 4 performance, though, fantasy managers should be looking to buy low on Benson. Although the results weren’t necessarily there last week, there is a lot to be encouraged by. He played 55% of the team’s offensive snaps and reeled in five catches on 20 routes run.

Given that Arizona trailed for most of the second half, it’s not a surprise to see Benson only total eight carries. In closer games, we expect the Cardinals’ RB to dominate this backfield.

Trade Strategy: Benson's poor Week 4 showing gives you the perfect opportunity to buy him. Offer a WR3/flex player in return for Benson. Our rest-of-season rankings have him as a top-24 RB with RB2 upside, making him a potential league-winner if you're thin at the position.

Using the WalterPicks Trade Analyzer

Each week, we will look at some recent trades that went down in Yahoo! leagues and use the WalterPicks trade analyzer to see if these trades were fair. This section is a way for you to see where players might be valued in the app.

Trade 1:

Team 1 Receives: WR A.J. Brown

Team 2 Receives: WR Keenan Allen

Ruiling: Team 2 actually wins this trade according to the WalterPicks app. Keenan Allen has been a more valuable fantasy asset through the first four weeks and will likely remain a safer, more consistent WR2 option than A.J. Brown moving forward.

Trade 2:

Team 1 Receives: TE Brock Bowers

Team 2 Receives: RB Kenneth Walker + TE Jake Ferguson

Ruiling: This appears to be an even trade for both sides, as Team 1 gets the best player in the deal (Brock Bowers) and Team 2 downgrades slightly at TE (Jake Ferguson) and acquires a solid RB2 (Kenneth Walker). However, Team 2 is the side WalterPicks prefers. Ferguson is currently the TE1 in fantasy, and Team 2 also gets a solid RB in return.

Trade 3:

Team 1 Receives: WR Michael Pittman Jr.

Team 2 Receives: WR Calvin Ridley + RB Trey Benson

Ruling: It’s hard to fully give a winner to this trade because Team 1 might not need Benson on their roster, so they upgraded their WR room by packaging him with Calvin Ridley to get Michael Pittman Jr. Therefore, if Benson were Team 2’s RB4, this is a solid move for them.
