Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft

This is how the first round of most rookie drafts should look!

This is how rookie drafts should go this year for superflex leagues:

1.01 - Ashton Jeanty (RB - Raiders)

Jeanty is a no-brainer to go first overall. There's almost no chance he isn't the first pick in your rookie draft. His workload and talent make him an excellent fantasy asset for years to come. He's going to be a first round pick in non-dynasty fantasy leagues.

1.02 - Omarion Hampton (RB - Chargers)

Hampton finds himself on a very effective Chargers offense. If Ashton Jeanty wasn't in this class, Hampton would be the top RB. In the immediate future, he might lose some goal line work to Najee Harris. But, in the years to come, he will be the workhorse for a Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert-led offense.

1.03 - Travis Hunter (WR - Jaguars)

There's a worthwhile debate regarding whether or not Hunter should go before Tet McMillan. Hunter goes to a slightly more advantageous offensive situation, and offers more pedigree than McMillan, but is going to be the WR2 on the Jags, while McMillan is the locked-in WR1 on the Panthers. Hunter is who we have going third in our rookie mock draft, but we aren’t opposed to Tet who may be in line for a greater workload.

1.04 - Tet McMillan (WR - Panthers)

McMillan is instantly the WR1 on a Carolina offense that looked promising for spells throughout last season. He's a big-bodied wideout, and head coach Dave Canales has experience with WRs like McMillan (Evans and Metcalf). There's a valid argument for him to go before Hunter, but many will prefer Hunter for the ceiling/pedigree.

1.05 - Treveyon Henderson (RB - Patriots)

Henderson is an electric prospect that will find playing time very quickly into his NFL career. He'll be a relied-upon pass catching back on the New England offense, and could quickly usurp any role Stevenson has, especially when considering the draft capital the Patriots used. He offers more PPR upside than the backs behind him.

1.06 - Cam Ward (QB - Titans)

Considering this is a superflex mock draft, it may be surprising to see Cam Ward this far down. The fact of the matter is that the WalterPicks projections team is simply not that high on Ward as a prospect, or the situation he ended up in. There are positives to drafting Ward. The draft capital spent on him should allow him a minimum of 3 seasons to figure it out at the NFL level. But he offers minimal rushing upside, and lacks a stellar supporting cast.

1.07 - Quinshon Judkins (RB - Browns)

Judkins is in line for an immediate, abundant workload in Cleveland. There's minimal competition in the RB room, and Kevin Stefanski wants to run the ball. They used high-end capital on Judkins, and he's likely going to be a steal this late in rookie drafts.

1.08 - Colston Loveland (TE - Bears)

If this were a TE premium rookie draft, Loveland would go a bit higher. He was the top TE taken in the NFL draft, and he goes to the coach that made Sam LaPorta a fantasy phenom. Loveland is only 21 years old, and has lots of upside for years to come.

1.09 - Kaleb Johnson (RB - Steelers)

Najee Harris is gone and the Steelers have replaced him with a better version. Johnson complements the current Pittsburgh RB room well, and we're projecting him to have an impactful start to his career, as well as develop into a formidable fantasy asset for years to come.

1.10 - Tyler Warren (TE - Colts)

Warren, surprisingly, went after Colston Loveland in the NFL draft. He was one of our favorite prospects, and he's now one of the top targets in Indy. The QB situation is bleak, but he has the potential to follow a similar model as Brock Bowers. Nobody, anytime soon, will have a truly similar rookie season as Bowers, but heavy targets on a bad team, with bad QB play, sounds like what Warren is in line for in the immediate future. Warren should have a long, successful career, making him a great dynasty pick.

1.11 - RJ Harvey (RB - Broncos)

Harvey is instantly the most talented back on the Broncos. The WalterPicks Projections Team is high on Harvey as a prospect, and we are very excited about the landing spot. Coach Payton is likely going to make Harvey a fantasy stud in short order. The fourth round draft capital is the primary reason he's not going a bit higher in this mock.

1.12 - Emeka Egbuka (WR - Buccaneers)

Egbuka landed in a murky situation for his immediate fantasy football future. But, he's an excellent talent, and Egbuka has the potential to become the WR1 for Tampa Bay in the next few years, perhaps as soon as next season with Godwin's injury history and Evans' age.
