2026 Bounceback Candidates

While the title is self-explanatory, the following players are ones that have an excellent chance of bouncing back this fantasy football season.

Brian Thomas Jr.

The Fall Off:

Brian Thomas Jr. finished as the WR13 in PPR points per game as a rookie, then plummeted to WR49 in PPR points per game in his second season. The fall off coincided with the hiring of Liam Coen as the new head coach and play-caller, so it’s reasonable to feel as if a bounceback is unlikely for BTJ. However, there are certainly cases to be made FOR the bounceback.

The Bounceback Case:

BTJ is an elite talent, and his 2025 campaign could certainly have been an outlier. His current ADP of WR36 provides him an excellent opportunity to bounceback as a fantasy option. If he recaptures a fraction of his rookie production, his ROI would be elite. He is still the most talented receiver on the Jags, ahead of Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington. He also has the highest ceiling of the group.

Trade rumors have constantly circulated throughout the last year as well, and a change of scenery could accelerate a bounceback further. The Jaguars have stated that they won't move him, but there’s often smoke where there’s fire.

Justin Jefferson

The Fall Off:

When healthy and playing a full season, Justin Jefferson had never finished outside the top six wide receivers, including three top-4 finishes. The 2025 Vikings' quarterback situation squandered that. The trio of J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, and Max Brosmer dragged JJettas to a WR21 PPR finish (a miracle honestly). The bounceback case isn’t overly difficult to pitch here.

The Bounceback Case:

Kyler Murray is not an elite quarterback anymore. But, he is a massive upgrade over last year's rotation. That upgrade cannot be overstated. The fantasy community has already priced in the bounceback. Jefferson's current ADP sits at WR6.

Jayden Daniels

The Fall Off:

Jayden Daniels was electric as a rookie, finishing fourth in fantasy points per game among quarterbacks with 11 games of 20 or more fantasy points. His second season was a sharp regression before his season-ending injury. He only recorded 20 or more fantasy points twice in seven games. The former Rookie of the Year struggled regardless of the injury.

The Bounceback Case:

The bounceback case is more than feasible. Sophomore slumps are common for quarterbacks who overperformed as rookies, and Daniels enters 2026 fully healthy. He’s going to need to carry this offense because of how poor their weapons are, and we currently have him ranked as our QB5.

Memorial Day Player Comps

Jalen Hurts is the Hot Dog 🌭

Glizzy’s get insane levels of hate, but they’re consistent and good. On top of that, we don’t really know what’s going with them on the inside. All of these characteristics also depict Jalen Hurts (well, the good more accurately applies to fantasy football).

Puka Nacua is the Cheeseburger 🍔

Reliable. Consistent. At their best, there are few better. Sometimes, they can get a bit crazy. Am I describing Puka Nacua or cheeseburgers? The answer is both.

Kyle Pitts is those Pool Floaties that Go Around Your Arms that You ALWAYS see at the Memorial Day Pool Party 😂

They often aren’t going to do what they’re intended to do. But they look cool when you have them… sometimes. Also, when they do what they’re needed to do, they can SAVE you. Remember that one Kyle Pitts game last season?

Michael Wilson is the Baked Beans

They weren’t intended to be the top item, but sometimes they’re just so good, that you can’t help but feel as if they are. They’re underrated, and capable of making your day because of how awesome they are. In this instance, Michael Wilson is homemade baked beans… not that canned stuff.
