🏈 4 Post-Hype Sleepers to Target in Drafts
Post-Hype Sleepers - What are they? Who are they? PLUS 4 that you should target!
Post-Hype Sleepers are players that were once incredibly hyped in the fantasy community, have underperformed and lost their luster, and now find themselves as potential values in fantasy drafts because of the ill-favor they have garnered.
Identifying and rostering the post-hype sleepers that hit in fantasy football is crucial in building a championship-caliber team. Last season, players like Trey McBride, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Jerry Jeudy found themselves on a vast majority of title-contending rosters. Here are four candidates post-hype sleepers to consider for 2025.
1. Kyle Pitts (TE - Falcons) HEAR US OUT!!!

Kyle Pitts is one of the most polarizing players in fantasy football history. Once regarded as one of the greatest tight end prospects of all time, Pitts has been a player that fantasy players have targeted every year he has been in the league. But he has not lived up to his draft capital since his rookie season when he was the TE6. Most fantasy players have called it quits on the former Gator. His cost is at its absolute lowest, and it may be time to pounce.
In 2024, he was 10th in receiving air yards share and sixth in yards per reception among tight ends. In Week 17, Pitts had his third-best performance of the season, scoring 14.4 PPR points with Michael Penix Jr. at the helm. These are encouraging signs to consider if you are looking to take the shot. His current consensus ADP is the 145th overall pick, but he can be found around pick 170 on ESPN. At this price, any risk in drafting Pitts is essentially gone.
Walter's Rank: TE25
Walter's Projected Ceiling: TE11
2. Breece Hall (RB - Jets)

As previously mentioned in our AFC East article, seeing Breece Hall on any sort of sleeper list feels strange. However, he has gone from the potential first overall fantasy pick last season to the RB13 and the 40th overall pick on ESPN.
Hall finished 14th in PPR points per game in 2024, but it is worth noting that he scored 18 or more fantasy points seven times including three games with 24 or more. With Justin Fields at quarterback, it is a near certainty that the Jets will be more run-oriented this season. We have the Jets projected to run the ball 10 plays more per game than pass. Hall's ceiling is the RB2 based on Walter's projections. Take a chance on Breece (in the tone of ABBA).
Walter's Rank: RB12
Walter's Projected Ceiling: RB2
3. Deebo Samuel (WR - Commanders)

Deebo Samuel has been an elite fantasy option in the past, but has burnt that goodwill in recent seasons.
Deebo offers a weekly ceiling that few other players can replicate, driven by the scoring potential of Washington’s offense and his versatility. Last season, he was first in rush attempts per game and rush share per game among wide receivers. His ceiling is worth the price of admission at his current ADP.
Walter's Rank: WR40
Walter's Projected Ceiling: WR20
4. Caleb Williams (QB - Bears)

Caleb Williams was highly-touted going into last season, but he (and the Bears) floundered during his rookie campaign. He finished as the QB16, but had had flashes of strong play. He had five games where he recorded 22 or more points. It is also worth noting that Williams had nine games with five or more rush attempts.
With Ben Johnson entering the fold, Williams chances of succeeding have gone up dramatically. His ability to manufacture open targets for his quarterbacks should bump Caleb immediately. Williams is going as the QB12 right now, which we have him projected higher than. His ceiling of QB3 makes the second year quarterback worth taking a shot on.
Walter's Rank: QB8
Walter's Projected Ceiling: QB3
