Massive NBA Trade Breakdown:

Anthony Davis was traded to the Washington Wizards - a team that has won 18 or less games in each of the last two seasons.
What it means: The Wizards are going all-in on Trae Young and AD, two players with questionable injury history to say the least. They are also betting on Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, Bilal Coulibaly, and Kyshawn George taking substantial steps forward in their development.
Dallas' "strategy": Accumulate draft picks after the Luka Doncic debacle - that's it.
The updated Dallas return for Doncic (spoiler, it's horrendous):
Three first-round picks (all in the back half)
Three second-round picks
Khris Middleton
Max Christie
AJ Johnson
Malaki Branham
Marvin Bagley

Fantasy Football Breakout Candidates

Ricky Pearsall, WR - San Francisco 49ers
Injuries have completely derailed Ricky Pearsall's first two NFL seasons. The 49ers wide receiver missed six weeks of his rookie campaign after being shot in an armed robbery attempt in the preseason, and then battled a persistent knee injury throughout most of 2025.
When healthy, Pearsall has flashed genuine star potential. He exploded for 14 catches, 210 yards, and two touchdowns over the final two weeks of the 2024 season and topped 85 receiving yards in four of his nine games in 2025 - an impressive efficiency rate that hints at what's possible with consistent health.
Year 3 sets up perfectly for his breakout. Brandon Aiyuk is almost certainly done in San Francisco, and Jauan Jennings is headed to free agency. That creates a massive opportunity in Kyle Shanahan's offense. If the former first-round pick can finally stay on the field, he'll be one of the best values in 2026 fantasy drafts.
Colston Loveland, TE - Chicago Bears
Colston Loveland needed time to adjust as a rookie. Through the first 11 weeks, the Bears tight end averaged just 7.6 PPR points and cracked the top 12 at the tight end position only once - hardly the production fantasy managers hoped for.
Then everything changed. Over the final seven weeks, Loveland averaged 13.7 PPR points with four top-10 fantasy tight end finishes. The Michigan product became a reliable TE1 option and emerged as Caleb Williams' clear favorite target down the stretch.
With a full season of experience now under his belt, Loveland is primed for a major leap in 2026. He'll play a featured role in Ben Johnson's offense - a coordinator with a proven track record of maximizing tight end production. As the Bears’ offense continues evolving, Loveland has legitimate top-3 fantasy upside at the position.
Jayden Higgins, WR - Houston Texans
Jayden Higgins showed steady improvement throughout his rookie season. The Texans receiver posted several quality performances in the second: five catches and a touchdown against Jacksonville in Week 10, 65 yards versus Indianapolis in Week 13, and 88 yards with a score against the Chargers in Week 17.
His underlying metrics suggest even better things ahead. Higgins ranked 26th in fantasy points per target, 19th in target premium, and 33rd in target depth among all receivers in 2025. Those numbers indicate efficiency and versatility - the foundation for a potential breakout.
Even though the former Iowa State star will operate behind Nico Collins in Houston's pecking order, that shouldn't limit his fantasy value. C.J. Stroud has supported multiple receivers before, and he can do it again. If Stroud continues his development, Higgins has the talent to emerge as a consistent WR3/flex option with week-winning upside in 2026.
Trey Benson, RB - Arizona Cardinals
Like Pearsall, Trey Benson's young career has been derailed by injuries. An ankle injury ended his rookie season prematurely, then a torn meniscus in Week 4 against Seattle limited him to just four games in 2025.
If fully healthy, Benson could break out in a major way during 2026. He's still only 23 years old and was valued highly enough to be selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The talent is clearly there.
The opportunity should be there, too. James Conner is aging and coming off a season-ending foot injury that raises serious durability concerns. Benson has already shown efficiency with a 4.9 yards-per-carry average in his limited action. With Conner's future uncertain, the Cardinals may finally give Benson the expanded role he needs to showcase his abilities and become a fantasy-relevant running back.
